Achieve Alpha Through People

Master the Leadership Discipline of Aligning Stakeholders Around a Common Purpose, Goals, Objectives, and Values of Your Organization or Team

The EEA Impact Academy is among the few leadership-development programs that apply the proven principles of Total Quality Management specifically to employee engagement, stakeholder alignment, and measurable organizational performance. The Enterprise Engagement Alliance offers a formal curriculum and certification program focused on a leadership capability most traditional programs overlook: how to harmonize the interests, motivations, and contributions of all the stakeholders whose actions determine organizational or team success.

The goal is straightforward: help leaders create greater value by systematically improving the performance and experiences of the people whose actions affect results.

Why a Systems-Based Approach to Leadership?

Most leadership training concentrates on the personal capabilities of the leader, such as communication, emotional intelligence, influence, decision-making, and executive presence. These skills are important, but they do not by themselves teach leaders how to build a coordinated management system around a purpose or goal. The EEA Impact Academy addresses that gap.

This program teaches leaders how to define a common purpose, identify the stakeholders critical to success, understand what each group needs and is expected to contribute, manage inevitable tradeoffs, and align communications, learning, job design, rewards, recognition, technology, and other management practices around measurable outcomes. These principles apply to the largest organization and the smallest team. They are based on the holistic approach to engagement embedded in ISO 10018 People Engagement and Annex SL standards, as well as on the application of stakeholder management principles to leadership and organizational performance.

The Enterprise Engagement Alliance is also a SHRM Recertification Provider, enabling eligible EEA educational programs to award Professional Development Credits that SHRM-certified professionals can use toward maintaining their credentials. Engagement is every leader’s business, but engagement alone is not the objective.

The objective is to focus people’s attention, capabilities, commitment, and actions on achieving a shared organizational or team purpose and producing measurable results.

This is not simply engagement training. It is leadership training for turning purpose into coordinated action, managing stakeholder tradeoffs, and creating measurable value through people.

Why Now

Says Chester Elton, No. 1 New York Times Bestselling Author, Executive Advisor to Global Leaders, High-Performance Culture expert, Thinkers50 and Coaches50 honoree, and keynote speaker:

“Hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent to engage people over the last two decades and yet engagement is at record lows. For many years, I’ve been honored to be part of a community dedicated to improving workplace culture through gratitude, recognition, and leadership. While I remain more passionate about this work than ever, especially with my focus on gratitude, I’ve come to believe that our field needs a more structured, systems-based approach to achieve the impact we all seek.”

The Enterprise Engagement Alliance is also the creator of the Enterprise Engagement Index, a free and open-source formula and AI query designed to rapidly appraise how effectively organizations create value through people.

Five Steps to Enterprise Engagement Success

 1. Join at the Level Appropriate to You

Corporate managers in HR, sales, and marketing and qualified professors can join at no cost. Organizations and solution providers participate through the appropriate paid membership programs.

2. Understand the Enterprise Engagement Framework

Use the EEA study guide and supporting books, videos, articles, and other learning resources to master the principles that align purpose, values, goals, strategy, and stakeholder interests.

3,  Apply Stakeholder Engagement Systematically

Learn how to engage employees, customers, channel partners, communities, and other stakeholders together—not in silos—to achieve defined purpose, goals, objectives, and values in a highly measurable way.

4.     Build a Practical Engagement Operating System

Learn how to make stakeholder engagement a repeatable and scalable management process rather than a collection of disconnected initiatives.

The framework can be applied to an organization, department, team, project, client program, or almost any challenge requiring multiple people with different interests to work toward a common goal.

5.      Demonstrate Impact and Earn Certification

Complete the appropriate certification requirements to demonstrate mastery of the EEA framework.

Certification can include a live multiple-choice examination and brief question-and-answer session. Advanced certification requires candidates to demonstrate how they would apply the principles to an actual situation.

A Fellow designation recognizes professionals with significant demonstrated experience applying engagement or Total Quality Management principles to people.

The Objective: Achieve Alpha Through People

Organizations seek competitive advantage from capital, technology, strategy, innovation, and operations. The EEA Impact Academy focuses on another potential source of alpha: how effectively an organization aligns and engages the people whose actions ultimately determine whether its strategy succeeds.

The objective is not engagement for engagement’s sake. It is to systematically create greater value for the organization by creating value for the employees, customers, partners, communities, and other stakeholders upon whom sustainable performance depends.
